Jennifer Lopez Insists She Doesn’t Exclusively Date Younger Men
Jennifer Lopez joined Ellen on Tuesday, where she made it pretty obvious that she’s over the narrative that she dates only younger men. Lopez was recently in a relationship with Beau Smart, who is nearly 18 years younger than her, and it’s that relationship she blames for this reputation.
“There’s this thing because I dated Beau and he was younger. And it was the first guy I dated that’s younger than me. But then I got labeled right away. And then, you know, that was it,” Lopez said.
Lopez also said that a man’s age has nothing to do with whether or not she’ll date him.
“It’s not like you have to be younger. It’s not about that. I just meet people, and if I go out with them, I go out with them. If I like them, I like them. If I don’t, I don’t. It’s about the person. It’s about who they are. It has nothing to do with age,” Lopez reiterated.
Lopez can say she doesn’t go after younger guys, but actions speak louder than words, and her actions in a game of “Who’d You Rather?” spoke pretty loudly. Lopez chose Harry Styles over slightly older heartthrobs such as Brad Pitt and Chris Martin, and Bruno Mars over Leonardo DiCaprio — before finally going back and settling on Styles.
