Jennifer Lopez Nails the Glam Zoom Outfit on Ellen

Jennifer Lopez and Ellen DeGeneres chatted on Zoom this morning. Meaning, Lopez appeared on The Ellen DeGeneres Show and was interviewed by Ellen from the comfort of their homes (DeGeneres hosted from inside, while Lopez opted for some vitamin D and conducted the interview outside, in her garden amongst the cacti). While DeGeneres leaned into a comfy WFH fit, J.Lo’s Zoom look was a tad more glam. What, you didn’t think she would show up in scrubby sweats, did you? Instead, Lopez leaned into her style signature—yes, even at home.

Lopez wore a white button-up shirt by Area that had crystal, flower-like embellishments all over it and giant hoop earrings by Jennifer Fisher. Perhaps she’s on board with the fancy top Zoom hack, where you dress up on top and wear whatever you want on the bottom. Whatever the case, it made for an unexpectedly polished outfit that proved J.Lo is camera-ready at all times.

During the 15-minute segment, Lopez talked about her recent Super Bowl performance this year and her stellar TikToks with fiancé Alex Rodriguez. (In case you’ve missed the memo, a bunch of celebrities have joined the app recently.) DeGeneres asked Lopez how she’s honed her TikTok skills over these past few weeks: “I love to dance just like you,” Lopez said. “[The kids] are always trying to get Alex to do all of these TikToks.” DeGeneres asked her about her most viral TikTok yet: where she and A-Rod did the “flip the switch” challenge and swapped clothing. “I had seen that challenge somewhere,” says Lopez, “and I said, ‘there’s one where we switch clothes—my dress is stretchy, I think it can fit you!’”

DeGeneres also couldn’t resist asking about Lopez and Rodriguez’s upcoming nuptials as well. The couple got engaged in March last year, and the host asked if J.Lo’s wedding plans have been affected by the coronavirus pandemic. “It did affect it a little bit,” Lopez said. “We will see what happens now. Honestly, I don’t know what’s going to happen right now, as far as date or anything like that.”

Meanwhile, Lopez ended the segment by talking about how social distancing has forced her to slow down and focus on self-care. Having wrapped a busy one-year marathon of filming Hustlers, World of Dance, her new movie Marry Me, followed by her Super Bowl halftime performance with Shakira in February, Lopez has been enjoying the break and solitude that comes with staying home. “I realized that, when I had time to slow down and think about it… I haven’t stopped for over a year,” she said. “It’s been nonstop.”
