Ontario Provincial Police have identified the man who died after his SUV hit a bus full of tourists viewing the fall colours in Algonquin Park on Highway 60 Saturday afternoon.

Police say 51-year-old Jing Xu's vehicle turned left and crossed the path of a eastbound motor coach bus around 2:30 p.m.

The Richmond Hill, Ont., man died at the scene.

Officers say his three passengers were taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The 61-year-old driver of the bus, originally from Scarborough, was also taken to hospital.

Police say none of the 53 bus passengers, all from the Toronto area, were hurt.

The crash happened 11 kilometres from the west entrance of the park near Tea Lake, which is about 300 kilometres from Ottawa.
