The Newfoundland Power board of directors announced Wednesday that effective June 1, Jocelyn Perry will be the company's new president and chief executive officer.
Perry has been with Newfoundland Power since 2005 and was most recently its chief operating officer.
"Jocelyn has been instrumental in building an environment of high performance and operational expertise that benefits customers by delivering the highest level of quality, dependable service," Anne Whelan, chair of the board of directors, said in a release.
"She continuously demonstrates her commitment to Newfoundland Power customers, employees and the community while ensuring the highest standards of excellence in safety and reliability."
Perry is replacing Gary Smith who has been appointed executive vice-president of Eastern Canadian and Caribbean operations with Fortis, also effective June 1, 2017.
