New Kids on the Block singer Joey McIntyre completed the Boston Marathon on Monday, just minutes before the explosions that killed at least two and injured dozens.

"There was an explosion by the finish line about 5 minutes after I finished," Joey Tweeted on Monday afternoon. "I'm ok but I'm sure there are many hurt."

Joey had been Tweeting earlier in the day about his joy at tackling the marathon, which he competed in for the Alzheimer's Association, a cause close to his heart as his mother suffers from the disease.

Knowing his bandmate was in the race, actor/singer Donnie Wahlberg appealed to fans on Twitter after hearing about the explosions.

"Please reach out if you hear that @joeymcintyre is ok!!!!! Please say a prayer for everyone in Boston!" Donnie Tweeted.
