Jordan Klepper Gives Trump Blunt Reminder Of How Much His Own Team Hates Him

Daily Show” correspondent Jordan Klepper isn’t buying claims that Donald Trump has changed after surviving an assassination attempt.

He said the former president’s rambling speech at the Republican National Convention shows he’s “a changed man who is basically the same man as before.”

Trump even paused to brag about the size of the crowd that witnessed the shooting.

But Klepper said there was one thing the RNC lacked.

“The campaign for president is basically one big job interview,” he said. “The convention is where America checks the candidate’s references.”

Trump’s convention “references” included “fake friends,” family members and a host of sketchy figures.

“But if this is a job interview, it’s worth noting who we didn’t see: Most of the people who actually worked with him in the White House,” Klepper said. “And if America’s gonna do our due diligence, we might as well call our references to hear what they have to say about him.”

Klepper rolled a supercut video of key figures from Trump’s presidency, including White House advisors, members of the Cabinet, and his vice president absolutely trashing him.

Check it out in Thursday night’s “Daily Show” monologue:
