"As we enter into a long family weekend together, we want to thank each of you for the prayers, love and encouragement you've sent our way," they wrote. "Since the residential treatment program ended, we have been working with a professional marriage and family counselor to take important steps toward healing."

"It isn't easy and some days are very difficult," they continued. "It is a long road to rebuild trust and a truly healthy relationship. We are very thankful for God's forgiveness, grace and help, as it is our strength and guide to rebuilding our lives."

Josh, 28, and Anna, 27, also explained that they are looking forward to a happy and healthy future together with their four children, Mackynzie, 6, Michael, 4, Marcus, 2, and Meredith, seven months. "As the future unfolds, we are taking [things] one day at a time and we are grateful for your continued prayers for both of us and our sweet children," they concluded.

Back in March, ET exclusively reported that Josh had left rehab after six months of treatment. A few days later, his family broke their silence on his exit. "Josh has completed his residential rehabilitation program," the Duggars confirmed in a blog post at the time. "We are so thankful for everyone who worked with Josh in this program. It was a crucial first step in recovery and healing for Josh."

The former 19 Kids and Counting star entered the facility shortly after the Ashley Madison hack led to his admission that he had cheated on Anna and battled a "secret addiction" to Internet pornography. That scandal came to light following his admission to molesting five minor girls, including four of his sisters, when he was a teenager.
