Joy Behar says she accidentally emailed Jimmy Fallon (not Jimmy Kimmel) to congratulate him on hosting Oscars
"I'm so technologically stupid."
Joy Behar once navigated her way from backstage to her seat at The View's Hot Topics table with the help of Siri, and she seemingly could've used the digital companion's help once again while drafting her latest email.
The 81-year-old comedian and cohost revealed on Tuesday's episode that she mistakenly emailed talk show star Jimmy Fallon — who is (famously) not 2024 Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel — to congratulate him for hosting Sunday's 96th Academy Awards.
"I decided, I know Jimmy, so I thought I'd write him an email and congratulate him on taking on this fascist with a joke because comedians rule," Behar said, after praising Kimmel's mid-ceremony quip about Trump staying up past his "jail time" to send out an incendiary social media post slamming Kimmel's hosting abilities.
"But," Behar continued, "I sent it to Jimmy Fallon."
Her fellow panelists chuckled at the exchange, and legal expert Sunny Hostin asked if Fallon responded.
"No, I mean, no, no," Behar replied. "I'm so technologically stupid. It's a wonder I didn't send it to Jimmy Carter."
EW has reached out to representatives for Fallon for comment.
Behar's latest bout with technology comes amid her ongoing feud with inanimate objects, which kicked off in March 2022 when a nefarious swivel chair sent her tumbling to the ground during a live View broadcast. Later that year, she was plagued on the air by her interruptive cell phone, and revealed months after that her apartment building's elevator once tried to hold her hostage.
The View airs weekdays at 11 a.m. ET on ABC.
