Julia Fox Sees Your Wet-Hair Look, and Raises You a Latex-Hair Look

·1 min read

I've been trying to think of a way to describe this latest Julia Fox look and the best I can come up with is Recently Emerged From One of Those Goop Pods From The Matrix. For the Diesel runway show at Milan Fashion Week, the It girl and couture shock jockey paired blue-streaked wet hair with a blue micro-mini and matching latex jacket patterned to mimic the texture of denim.

While keeping to her signature style, this look is also pretty on theme for the brand, which is known for its cool and provocative takes on denim and streetwear. She was in the front row, of course.

The hair is not the kind of slick, sleek wet hair that evokes fresh-from-the-spa glamour. Fox's take on wet hair here doesn't look wet so much as kind of grease-coated. It seems intended to match the texture, color, and vibe of the skirt set (with matching gloves and black boots, of course), which I get. I just wish it didn't all look so…sticky.

I can acknowledge that the overall look, with her famous heavy black eye makeup and bleached brows, is certainly in keeping with the otherworldly dirtbag club-kid vibe that Fox has championed from the moment she appeared on the scene. I have to applaud her for committing.

Where will Julia Fox's intentionally uncomfortable fashion journey take us all next? Could be Mars. Could be a warehouse party in Berlin. No one knows.
