Julia Roberts' new full fringe might just be inspired by 'Daisy Jones & The Six'

Fashion and beauty's obsession with the 1970s has recently been reignited thanks to the new hit television series Daisy Jones & The Six. The Amazon Prime show sees Suki Waterhouse, Camila Morrone and Riley Keough channelling the decade's biggest music icons (think Stevie Nicks and Debbie Harry) in butterfly kaftans, fringed suede vests and plenty of crochet – and, naturally, the hair and make-up has been a major talking point, too. Think fluffy, feathery haircuts, sunkissed complexions and, of course, face-framing fringes which are currently dominating the beauty world.

Julia Roberts is the latest A-lister to embrace a fringe. At the Watches and Wonders jewellery trade show in Geneva, Roberts – a Chopard ambassador – debuted a choppy new eyebrow-grazing fringe courtesy of her legendary hairstylist and longtime collaborator Serge Normant, who's worked with some of the world's most iconic faces such as Cindy Crawford, Christy Turlington and Sarah Jessica Parker.

For Roberts' new 'do, Normant also added in fresh layers, which creates the illusion of volume, while colourist Kadi Lee gave her warm brunette lengths a glossy boost. "We’ve really had so much fun trying almost every cut and colour combination on Julia, who is just the ultimate muse," said Lee on Instagram, explaining that getting the haircut right before having your colour done is always a good idea. "I always follow his [Normant's] lead, because, with any makeover, one knows the hair shape is paramount, and a good rule of thumb is to paint to the shape and complement what is done once the cut is established. And, if a fringe is a part of the plan, the most important colour approach is to make sure it has a balanced amount of dimension to give it movement."

It's the perfect way to lean into the '70s trend while giving your tresses a springtime update.
