Julia Roberts reflects on ex Matthew Perry's death and Friends on-set experience
Julia Roberts has reflected on the death of Friends actor Matthew Perry, who she briefly dates back in the '90s.
The Homecoming and Leave the World Behind actress appeared in one episode of the classic sitcom, 'The One After the Super Bowl part 2' as a victim of Chandler's fourth grade bullying who gets her revenge in the present day. Perry revealed in his memoir last year that the two dated for three months around the time of her appearance in the show.
In an interview with Entertainment Tonight, Roberts didn't say much about her time with Perry specifically, but did state: "The sudden passing of anybody so young is heartbreaking. I think that it just helps all of us to appreciate what we have and to keep going in a positive way as best we can."

She also spoke about her experience on Friends, recalling: "They were all so welcoming to me as just a kind of a one-off character and it was a really fun time."
Perry died in his California home on October 28, at the age of 54. Following his death, an official foundation has been set up in his honour, following his wishes to help people deal with their addictions.
A quote from him on his foundation's website reads: "When I die, I don't want Friends to be the first thing that's mentioned – I want helping others to be the first thing that's mentioned.

"I'm going to live the rest of my life proving that. Addiction is far too powerful for anyone to defeat alone. But together, one day at a time, we can beat it down."
Jennifer Aniston has since asked fans to donate to the foundation, stating: "He would have been grateful for the love."
