Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has confirmed he won't manage Liverpool in their FA Cup replay against Shrewsbury at Anfield.

The Reds surrendered a 2-0 lead at League One Shrewsbury on Sunday as subsitute Jason Cummings struck twice to force a replay next month.

The fixture is set to be arranged for the period following next weekend’s Premier League meeting with Southampton at Anfield, when Klopp had planned to give his players a full week off.

And the 52-year-old has revealed he still plans to hand his regular first-team players a much-needed rest, while also taking time away from the dugout himself.

"I said to the boys already two weeks ago that we will have a winter break," Klopp confirmed.

"We will not be there, it will be the kids that play that game. I know that's not very popular but that's the way I see it."

Neil Critchley, who led a young Liverpool side in the League Cup against Aston Villa last month, will instead lead the side.
