Justin Bieber, Chance the Rapper's new song 'Holy' draws on faith and hope

Justin Bieber is here to give us the feels with his new gospel-tinged song “Holy” featuring Chance the Rapper.

Released Sept. 18, “Holy” is an emotion-laden celebration of faith and hope, with the lyrics, "When you hold me, hold me, hold me / Feels so holy."

Along with the new music, Bieber debuted a short film directed by Colin Tilley and starring Wilmer Valderrama (“NCIS”) and Ryan Destiny (“Star”). In the video, Bieber and Destiny star as a down-on-their-luck couple given a hand up by soldier Valderrama, who takes them to his home, saying, "I'm headed in the direction of a warm meal if you guys are up for it."

Bieber said on Twitter that “Holy” marked the beginning of a “new era.” His longtime manager Scooter Braun told Beliebers there is “so much more to come you have no idea” on Twitter.

In May, Bieber joined forces with Ariana Grande for a song about pandemic life called 'Stuck With U'. In February, he dropped his fifth studio album, “Changes,” which debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200. Then 25 years old, Bieber broke Elvis Presley's record of being the youngest musician to earn seven No. 1 albums after the top debut.

Bieber and wife Hailey Baldwin celebrated two years of marriage in September.

Chance the Rapper, real name Chancelor Johnathan Bennett, is known for incorporating religious messages into his music and has said he considers himself a Christian rapper. Both he and Bieber have performed at Kanye West’s Sunday Service.
