Justin Bieber Seemingly Responds to Taylor Swift's Claims About Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta

Other celebs have been noticeably silent.

Earlier this week, Taylor Swift publicly called out music executives Scooter Braun and Scott Borchetta for allegedly preventing her from using her old music in upcoming projects, including a performance at this year’s American Music Awards where she is being celebrated as Artist of the Decade. Her announcement was the latest piece in a tangled puzzle involving both Braun and Borchetta, dating back to the summer when Taylor shared a Tumblr post reacting to Braun’s acquisition of her former record label, Big Machine Label Group.

In the days following Taylor’s most recent post about Braun and Borchetta, many celebs have come forward to show their love for the singer, including Selena Gomez, Halsey, and Cara Delevingne. But several other stars have been notably absent among the list — particularly Braun’s other clients, whom Taylor specifically called upon for support. “Scooter also manages several artists who I really believe care about other artists and their work,” she wrote on November 14. “I'm hoping that maybe they can talk some sense into the men who are exercising tyrannical control over someone who just wants to play the music she wrote.”

The following day, Justin Bieber — one of Braun’s clients — seemingly jumped into the conversation. In an Instagram Story, the “Love Yourself” singer shared a screenshot of a TMZ story claiming that Big Machine isn’t trying to hold Taylor's music hostage after all. (FWIW, Taylor’s publicist later refuted these claims.)

Though Justin didn't add any further commentary on Instagram, it's easy to assume that he's possibly taking Scooter’s side in things — especially since he has defended the producer in the past. “Scooter has had your back since the days you graciously let me open up for you,” Justin wrote back in June in a post addressed to Taylor. “As the years have passed we haven’t crossed paths and gotten to communicate our differences, hurts, or frustrations. So for you to take it to social media and get people to hate on Scooter isn’t fair.”

As for Ariana Grande, Demi Lovato, and other artists managed by Braun, we have yet to hear their opinion on the current conflict. It remains to be seen whether or not they will speak out in support of the music executive, or join Taylor’s side — but we’ll be sure to keep you updated right here either way.
