Jyoti Baliyan: The Para-Archer Who Is A Top Medal Prospect At The Tokyo Paralympic Games

54 sportspersons from India, the country’s biggest ever contingent, will be competing in nine sports disciplines at the Tokyo Paralympic Games 2020. Out of the 14 participating women is 27-year-old para-archer Jyoti Baliyan.

Stricken by tragedy at an early age that resulted in life-long polio, Baliyan's dream to become a sportsperson did not stop there and she worked hard to achieve what she is today.

Born into a farmer’s family in Goela village in Muzaffarnagar district, Uttar Pradesh, Baliyan has been practising archery for over a decade now with impressive records of several international feats.

For her consistent performance over the last few years, Baliyan is currently India’s biggest medal prospect. Watch the video to know more about her.
