Kacey Musgraves is baring it all — again — showing some skin in a nude selfie, nearly three years after performing naked on Saturday Night Live.

On June 14, the “Too Good to Be True” musician posted a near-naked selfie on her Instagram Stories. In the photo, the country star poses in what appears to be a hair and makeup trailer on set, as members of her glam squad assist in applying mud or muddy makeup to her skin.

Musgraves, 35, smiles while holding her phone for the mirror selfie. Meanwhile, a person carefully fixes her hair, and two other people spread a thin coat of the brown substance all over her bare body.

Aside from the mud, the only thing covering the seven-time Grammy winner’s private area is a small brown heart emoji.

This isn’t the Golden Hour singer’s first time going nude in the name of art.

In October 2021, Musgraves channeled her inner-Jenny Curran during a nude performance on the season 47 premiere of Saturday Night Live.

Armed with only her guitar and a pair of Celine cowboy boots, Musgraves performed "justified" from her fifth studio album, Star-Crossed

Her look was inspired by Robin Wright’s portrayal of Jenny in the 1994 Oscar-winning film Forrest Gump, when the actress also performed nude while singing Bob Dylan's "Blowin' in the Wind" (performed by Joan Baez on the soundtrack) at a strip club.

More recently, Musgraves opened up about her grandmother’s disapproval of a nude alternate album cover for her sixth studio album, Deeper Well.

Speaking to the Apple Music Country show Today's Country Radio with Kelleigh Bannen in March, the “Anime Eyes” artist revealed her relative’s reaction to the promo image shot by her sister Kelly.

"I just randomly had this idea… Because it was a big, wide-open green space. And I was like, 'What if I was just really small?' Like in the fetal position, sort of, into the earth," she said during the interview. "And it's just sort of vulnerable and almost like rebirth, I guess."

The alternate image shows the singer laying in the grass with her back to the camera.

"I was showing my parents and my grandparents the photos that my sister had taken. And then the naked one came up, and Nana was like, 'Gasp!' Like she just saw a car wreck, basically," Musgraves recalled of her grandmother.

Once her grandma finally found the words, she had no problem sharing them.

“She was like, 'No!' She was like, 'That's not… that’s a cover?' And I was like, 'Yeah, it's one of the covers,' " the "Butterflies" hitmaker said. "And she was like, 'Kacey, you're a singer, not a stripper.'”

However, Musgraves wanted her nana to know that she’s capable of juggling her talents.

“And I was like, 'Well, you know what? You can be both,' " she quipped.
