New ‘Karate Kid’ Movie At Sony Taps Ben Wang To Star
Following a thorough search to find its new Karate Kid, Sony Pictures has tapped Ben Wang to star in the next installment in the franchise, Deadline has confirmed.
The new pic also stars Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio reprising their roles from previous films.

Plot details are vague other then it being set on the East Coast and focuses on a teen from China who finds strength and direction via martial arts from a mentor.
Jonathan Entwistle is directing with Rob Lieber penning the script. Karen Rosenfelt is producing an the film is set to bow on Dec. 13, 2024.
Wang is best known for his breakout role in the Disney+ series American Born Chinese, which also stars Michelle Yeoh. He is repped by Stewart Talent, Artists First and Schreck Rose. The news was first reported by The Hollywood Reporter.
