Kate Middleton Wore a Grey Catherine Walker Dress for Rare Engagement With the Queen
Kate Middleton has two engagements today, but it's her first event with Queen Elizabeth II that's especially notable. The Duchess of Cambridge and the Queen are opening Bush House at King's College London. For the occasion, Kate dressed neutral, wearing a grey Catherine Walker belted dress with a black fascinator. The Queen dressed colorfully in contrast, wearing a light pink coat and matching hat.
Kate doesn't often do events with just the Queen. Her last joint engagement with Queen Elizabeth was seven years ago, in March 2012. Kate was just in her first year of marriage to Prince William and first year of royal work. The two women visited Leicester then.
After her event with the Queen today, Kate will continue on to her solo engagement at the Foundling Museum. There, she'll "understand how they use art to make a positive contribution to society by engaging with vulnerable and marginalized young people," the Palace announced.
In the museum, Kate will see its "Bedrooms of London" photography exhibit, which document the living conditions of some of the city's most disadvantaged children.
Kate had four events last week, where she wore a variety of looks. Her most business causal was during her visit to the Henry Fawcett Children’s Centre. Kate wore a spring-ready lavender Gucci bow blouse and black Jigsaw trousers there.
She got to wear evening attire later that day at the NPG Portrait Gala at the National Portrait Gallery. She chose a black floral Alexander McQueen dress for that event.
Her most regal outfits were during the Commonwealth Day service, where she wore a red Catherine Walker coat dress and matching fascinator, and during the 1st Battalion Irish Guards St Patrick's Day Parade, where Kate wore a festive custom Alexander McQueen coat dress.
