Kate Middleton's children were upset when she met this celebrity

From Cosmopolitan

As part of an upcoming programme featuring both Kate Middleton and Prince William, Kate has revealed that her three children were rather "upset" when they learnt she was heading off to meet a particular celebrity without them. In fairness, we would be a bit miffed too if it were our parents – given that the big name in question is none other than David Attenborough. I know! The royals and Attenborough together? What a combo.

The revelation was made during a trailer for the upcoming ITV show, Prince William: A Planet For Us All, when the Duke and Duchess meet with the TV presenter and wildlife expert to discuss how the world can be better preserved for future generations. The clip begins with William explaining a big part of him wanting to learn more and raise awareness is down to becoming a father.

"I've always loved nature but fatherhood has given me a new sense of purpose," he begins. "Now that I've got George, Charlotte and Louis in my life, your outlook does change." Footage of him travelling the world and meeting with various people then culminates with a snippet of the Prince and Kate greeting Sir David.

"Here's a recognised face," William jokes at first. Kate then adds, "The children were very upset that we were coming to see you and they weren't coming."

The Duchess continues, "They're massive fans of yours!" to which Attenborough can be heard laughing in the background. This isn't the first time she's mentioned George's love of the documentary maker either – earlier this year, during a video call with Casterton Primary Academy, the Duchess was apparently asked who was the best famous person she had met and responded, "George has been watching lots of David Attenborough, Blue Planet and the like, so that would probably be [her choice]."

It turns out that William and Kate have actually met Sir David more than once too; the first time was during the Natural History Museum Alive 3D premiere in 2013.

Well, if we weren't already excited for this documentary – which also sees Prince William juggle, by the way – then we certainly are now. No firm date has been given for when it'll air, but we do not it's sometime in October, so there's not too long to wait.
