The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge regularly encourage people to look after their mental, as well as their physical, well-being.

During the coronavirus pandemic, people all over the world are being advised to stay at home, to social distance, and to self-isolate where necessary, to prevent the spread of COVID-19. As a result, people living with mental health conditions are facing challenges during the pandemic, particularly as they might find themselves alone more often than usual, or without their regular support systems.

Launching a new set of guidelines released by Public Health England, Kate Middleton and Prince William encouraged people to seek support when they need it. The Kensington Royal Instagram post explained, "Self-isolation and social distancing can pose huge challenges to our mental health—in recent weeks the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have been in regular contact with organisations and patronages to understand the issues they are facing during this difficult time."

The post continued, "Last week ☎️ The Duke spoke to @mindcharity CEO Paul Farmer, and The Duchess spoke to Catherine Roche, CEO of @_place2be." Per Kensington Royal, "Today Public Health England has published new guidance to help support people during the COVID-19 outbreak, and updated its world-leading Every Mind Matters platform, with specific advice on maintaining good mental wellbeing during the outbreak."

The post also included a personal message from the duke and duchess which said, "It is great to see the mental health sector working together with the NHS to help people keep on top of their mental well-being."

The Cambridges continued, "By pulling together and taking simple steps each day, we can all be better prepared for the times ahead."
