Katharine McPhee Foster is sharing a hilariously relatable mom moment.

While preparing to cook a meal, the actress and musician, 38, was horrified to realize that she'd left her toddler son's iPad in the oven, where she had temporarily hidden it at a point before.

The scene unfolded in a video shared on McPhee Foster's Instagram Story, with her captioning the video, "Just over here cooking iPads," adding facepalm emojis. "I tried to hide it and forgot it was in there while [heating] up the oven for my chicken special."

Friend Kelly Viavattine captured the moment when McPhee Foster realized the smell coming from her preheating oven was the smell of an electronic device melting. She opened the oven and confirmed her assumption, attempting to grab it with a dish towel before she realized it would require more.

"The iPad is in the oven because he kept asking for it," she explained as she asses the situation, while  Rennie David', 2½ said, "Help me, Mommy," as he realized what happened to the device.

She got oven mitts and removed the iPad to the edge of the sink, remarking, "Oh my God, it smells really bad," moving to carry it out of the house as the video concluded.

In October, McPhee Foster and husband David Foster spoke to PEOPLE about their son's newfound musical talents.

"We think [he'll be musical], but we don't know," Foster said at the time. "Kids, strangely, will do something for a while and then it'll amaze you and then they just drop it and they don't do it anymore."

"So we don't know if the drumming thing is here to stay — I'd rather he have a tennis racket in his hand than a drumstick to tell you the truth," he continued. "But anyway, if he ends up being a drummer, that would be great too. He loves watching our drummer, JR Robinson."

While appearing on an episode of The Jennifer Hudson Show earlier this year, the American Idol alum chatted about the possibility of having another child with her husband and what being a mom means to her.

"I would love to have another baby, but we'll see," McPhee Foster said, as the in-studio audience cheered.

"We're not in any crazy rush, but I hope so," she then told the host before adding, "I love being a mom, I really love it."
