A kebab shop has come under fire for its ‘Twin Tower’ meal deal that uses 9/11 imagery to advertise the offer.

Despite being available for the past two years, the deal – which includes two Big Tower burgers, two portion of chips and two soft drinks for £12 – has only just started to draw complaints.

The deal, available at South Kebab in Deptford, South East London, appears to refer to the World Trade Centre towers, that were destroyed in the 9/11 attacks that killed over 3,000 people.

A member of the public, who did not want to be named, said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw it.

“It is totally wrong and inappropriate to be advertising a deal as the Twin Towers, I double took when I saw it.”

However, South Kebab say this is the first time the offer has drew complaints.

A manager at the restaurant, who did not want to be named, added: “I have had the offer a couple of years and it’s never been mentioned before.

“I have got a tower burger and the offer is for two burgers, so it is a twin tower burger meal.

“We have never had any problems, no one has mentioned 9/11 before, it’s an offer for two burgers.”
