Keke Palmer Sings Song from Her Parents’ Wedding: 'What Real Love Makes You Feel'
Now, the Emmy winner sings the song for her son Leo
Keke Palmer is taking a trip down memory lane!
On Tuesday, the Nope actress, 30, used social media to share a clip of herself singing a song that is near and dear to her heart.
“My mom sang this to my dad at their wedding! I wasn’t there, but all growing up as a party trick, he would put my mom on the spot to sing ‘their’ song,” she wrote in her Instagram caption.
The video showed the multitalented star doing her own rendition of the late Natalie Cole’s 1975 single “Inseparable.”
Palmer confessed, “It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized she (her mom) didn’t write the song! That’s how well she would sing it!”
The actress explained that her vocal abilities are lacking in comparison to her mother Sharon Palmer's, but that she felt compelled to sing the tune while at home with her baby boy.
“Randomly while playing with Leodis in the living room, I just started singing it to him. I guess that’s what real love makes you feel,” Keke wrote.
In the video, the Disney alum wore an oversized T-shirt with various dinosaurs and a black cozy sweater for the impromptu concert.
And now that Keke is a mother, she’s doing the same.
The Emmy Award winner welcomed her first child, son Leodis "Leo" Andrellton, on Feb. 25, 2023, with her ex-boyfriend, Darius Jackson.
Once he was born, although the parents hadn’t publicly shared his name at the time, Keke told Essence how she and Darius came up with the moniker.
"It gives Black American storyline. We want it to just be like — we’re not going for anything too unique. It’s not about to be Stone and Sand. It’s just like a nice natural [name].”
When the former couple did decide to reveal his name, the Hustlers actress announced it via Instagram.
"Born during Black History Month, with a name to match," she said, in part.
Leo will be celebrating his first birthday this coming weekend.
In December, the new mom shared photos on Christmas Eve of the two taking family portraits.

"Happy Holidays! From my family, to yours 🫶🏾," she captioned a trio of pictures on Instagram, adding, "He wouldn’t let me tuck his shirt in. And whatever he says goes 🙄🥹."
Earlier that day, she uploaded another set of images with herself and her little one from the shoot.
“Santa is here and she brought her favorite little helper 🥹 .. Merry Christmas Eve 🎄,” she wrote.
