The Masked Singer season 7 finale is officially here, and it’s time for the Fox singing competition show to crown its latest winner. Although the latest installment is coming to an end, judge Ken Jeong already has his eye on other exciting TV projects that have nothing to do with disguised celebrities vying for a golden mask trophy.

On May 11, Deadline exclusively reported that the 52-year-old actor is officially joining the main cast of The Afterparty on Apple TV+. According to the outlet, Ken will star as a character named Feng in season 2. As viewers may know, season 1 of the fictional murder mystery followed the investigation into the death of pop star Xavier (Dave Franco), which was led by Detective Danner (Tiffany Haddish). With the high school reunion case solved, Danner will focus on another investigation — and based on the show’s format, Feng will likely be a suspect.

After the news broke, The Pentaverate star expressed his gratitude on Instagram. “Truly honored. ❤️🙏,” he captioned a screenshot of the Deadline article.

Reacting to Ken’s exciting career announcement, Masked Singer fans immediately took to the comments section to applaud the comedian. “This is AMAZING news,” one person wrote. “Yesssss!! 🔥🔥 GET IT KEN!!” another added. “🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 I CAN’T WAIT!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️,” a different fan said.

Among the celebratory messages were questions about what Afterparty season 2 will be about. While The Hangover actor didn’t get a chance to answer back, Deadline revealed that new episodes will center around a murder at a wedding. Danner will work alongside returning characters Aniq (Sam Richardson) and Zoe (Zoë Chao) to solve it. If the second season is anything like the first, then we’re sure Ken will be bringing humor to the murder mystery. The Afterparty cast will also consist of Elizabeth Perkins, Zach Woods, Paul Walter Hauser, Poppy Liu, Anna Konkle, Jack Whitehall, Vivian Wu and John Cho.

What’s more, on May 16, Ken shared that he is also starring in a new Comedy Central movie called Out of Office. From the executive producers of The Office, the upcoming summer flick will take a closer look at what could happen when there are no boundaries between working from home and personal life.
