Kendall Jenner Explains Why She Keeps Relationship With Ben Simmons Private

"A relationship is only meant to be between two people."

She’s an integral part of the First Family of Social Media, but there are some things that Kendall Jenner likes to keep to herself — especially when it comes to her love life.

Kendall opened up about dating and being in the spotlight to Vogue Australia, saying that her family’s experiences with love and fame definitely impacted how she’s handling her relationship with basketball player Ben Simmons, who she’s been linked to since spring of 2018.

“I got a glimpse of how my sisters dealt with [the attention] and it’s cool to learn from that,” Kendall said. “For me, a lot of things are very special and very sacred, like my friends and relationships, and I personally think that bringing things into the public makes everything so much messier.”

Kendall and Ben have kept a relatively low profile despite Kendall’s mega-fame; though they’ve been seen together on vacay and Kendall has popped up at Ben’s games, their relationship is definitely much more private than you’d think a Kardashian-Jenner’s would be. And for Kendall, that’s intentional — and probably why we never seen Ben on her instagram Stories or on KUWTK.

“I’m very young and right now I feel like relationships aren’t always super-certain and I don’t want to bring too much attention to something if you don’t really know long term [what it’s going to be],” Kendall explained in her interview with Vogue Australia. “A relationship is only meant to be between two people, and the second you make it the world’s business is when it starts messing with the two people mentally. Like once everyone is let in, you’re letting all these opinions into your relationships, and I don’t think that’s fair.”

Kendall has a point; it’s up to the people in the relationship, not the rest of the world, to reveal whatever they choose about themselves and each other. If or when Kendall and Ben want to give us more info about what’s going on between them, they’ll do it.

The magazine also asked Kendall if wedding bells are in her future, to which the model responded simply, “Maybe. Definitely not now, but maybe one day.”

While we might not see Kendall walk down the aisle anytime soon, it definitely sounds like she’s happy in her relationship, her career, and her life in general. But it’s safe to say that a Kendall Jenner wedding would be all kinds of glamorous — we can just imagine the gown now.
