KENORA - OPP have charged a 39-year-old woman with arson in connection to a March fire that sent one person to hospital with life-threatening injuries.
In a news release issued Friday, Oct. 9, Kenora OPP announced the arrest of Deanna McLeod of Kenora and charged her with one count of arson disregard for human life.
Officers were initially dispatched on March 18 in the early morning hours after receiving reports of a fire in the 200-block of First Street South in the city’s downtown core.
When emergency crews responded, they observed thick, heavy smoke coming from the building. One person was pulled from the building and transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said at the time.
McLeod is scheduled to appear in court on Oct. 22 on the charges.
