Kenyan President Ruto will visit Haiti on Saturday amid questions over deployment
President William Ruto of Kenya will visit Haiti on Saturday morning and will receive a formal diplomatic welcome, the Haitian government said on Friday.
The visit comes several months after the deployment to Haiti of a Kenyan force that was meant to lead a multinational contingent to aid the Haitian police.
The mission has been plagued by logistical problems and cost overruns, leading the United States — which primarily funds the mission — to explore a new format at the United Nations in recent weeks.
