Kilbride man arrested for assaulting police officer

Accountant at St. Bon's College fired, RNC investigating fraud complaint

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary arrested a 54-year-old man Friday night after he assaulted an officer.

Police received a complaint involving an intoxicated man in Kilbride around 8:15 p.m. and when officers approached the man, he resisted arrest and struck one of the officers in the side of the face.

The officer was not injured and the man was charged with assaulting a police officer and resisting arrest.

He was held for a court appearance Saturday morning.
