Kim Kardashian Got More Bang for Her Blonde

Is that Kim Kardashian or Pamela Anderson? The Skims founder channeled the eternal Baywatch icon with her latest hairstyle, adding a fresh set of fringe to her newly platinum blonde hair in the process.

For the Disney Upfronts in New York City on April 14, Kardashian's hairstylist Chris Appleton went for a ‘90s-style updo he cleverly deemed “Babewatch.” Kardashian’s hair was piled up on the top of her head with lots of messy, undone volume, like Anderson's signature tousled style, though we doubt there was a G-string—Anderson's secret ingredient for her most iconic updos—tucked inside. Appleton pulled out two pieces from the updo to frame Kardashian's face, then added a soft, wispy curtain bang that fell past the star's brows.

Glam-wise, makeup artist Rokael Lizama opted for warm honey tones on the star's eyes, cheeks, and lips, including Rokael Beauty's Redefined Lip Shader in Alignment paired with Rebirth Tinted Whipped Lip Oil in Angelic Honey. So soft, so sultry.

Kardashian typically isn't on team bangs; we've rarely seen her with a fringe, but this specific style is really working for her, especially with the smudgy dark root and long tendrils on either side of said bangs. The joy of curtain bangs is that you can easily brush them to the side when you're bored or to mix things up, so they're more versatile than other bang styles. The bangs may be a one-time thing to pair with the updo, or they may stick around awhile; you ever know what Kardashian is going to do with her hair next, which is all part of the fun.

The Pam updo was the hot style of 2023, with countless tutorials flooding TikTok, but it's a timeless fave for a variety of occasions, especially with a summer sundress or a glam gown like Kardashian's black column dress. As the weather warms up, why not take a cue from Kardashian and her “Babewatch” updo for your next night out? Bonus points if you add bangs!
