Kim Kardashian Has Joined the Flippy '90s Bob Brigade

Another day, another star in a flippy bob. It's safe to say that the swingy style is one of the biggest hair trends of 2024, and now Kim Kardashian has co-signed the look with a '90s-inspired take on the trend.

Kardashian's bob comes courtesy celebrity hairstylist Dimitris Giannetos, who sculpted the star's hair into a flipped-out bob that hits just above her collarbones. Kardashian's dark hair was deeply parted to one side and tucked behind her ears, with the ends flicked outward and upwards. However, Kardashian's bob stands out because it wasn't blown out or styled with lots of va-va-voom body and bounce; Giannetos instead styled it wet for a sleeker, more fashion-forward vibe, which worked perfectly with Kardashian's chic red reptile-print coat. Makeup artist Diana Shin gave Kardashian a dewy glow and soft, light brown shadow, plus precisely sculpted, arched brows and a satiny nude lip.

Judging from the pics, it looks like Kardashian may be on set for her forthcoming Ryan Murphy-helmed legal drama All's Fair, where she plays the owner of an all-women legal firm. If we know anything about a great bob, it's that it means business—just ask Cardi B, who recently wore a voluminous bombshell “money wig" with flipped-out ends. Could the bob be an important clue to her character's style and personality? It certainly seems like it.

Kardashian's bob joins an esteemed league of flipped-out bobs, Cardi's included. They're in very, very good company. For example, in the first quarter of 2024, Christina Aguilera, Emma Stone, and Jennifer Lopez all debuted a variation on the short style, all of which had a similar sleek ‘90s vibe like Kardashian’s cut. For a more voluminous take on the trend, look to Saweetie's beyond bouncy chin-length bob, Shania Twain's flipped-out bubble bob, and Beyoncé's retro Marilyn Monroe style. It's basically the Marvel Cinematic Universe of celebrity bobs!
