Kim Kardashian Posed With A Giant Cake For Her Birthday Makeup Launch And Suddenly I’m Hungry
Kimberly Noel Kardashian turned 40 yesterday, and to celebrate the momentous occasion, she's releasing a new collection of makeup based on her birthstone: the opal. For the promotional photos prior to the launch, Kim posted in front of a giant cake and, honestly, the pics are making us hungry!
"JUST DROPPED: @kkwbeauty's The Complete Opalescent Collection — Inspired by my birthstone, the opal is now available," Kim wrote in the caption posted to Instagram. In the photos, she's wearing metallic tights and and a metallic top and is sitting on a three-tiered cake display.

The display features a white cake with pink and blue frosting decorations including small flower details along the edge. On top of the highest layer, silver candles with gold flames are scattered around, though there aren't a total of 40 on top.
This isn't the first time Kim has used food or food-adjacent props in her beauty and fashion campaigns. In an announcement earlier this month about her birthday collection, Kim also posted a clip on her Instagram throwing cake at the camera.

Prior to that, she posted a photo digging into a stack of waffles to promote the new SKIMS waffle loungewear. On her birthday, she kept her Instagram posts minimal, with photos of the makeup collection and reposts of birthday wishes from her friends and family.

It's not quite clear what kind of real cake Kim used to celebrate her birthday with, but I'm sure it was just as extravagant as the fake one she sat on for her KKW Beauty shoot. Chances are there was some Don Julio 1942 on the side and the leftover cake is being stored somewhere in her plethora of fridges. HBD, Kim!
