Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik share baby's first Halloween photo; more celebrity costumes

The pandemic may have changed the way many holidays look this year, but at least one thing remains constant: celebrities dressing up for Halloween. The stars put their best foot forward and got creative with their costumes, channeling everything from "Tiger King" to honoring essential workers.

Gigi Hadid and Zayn Malik celebrated their first Halloween with their newborn daughter, whose name has not been shared. The baby sported what appeared to be an adorable knitted Hulk hat while laying in Dad's arms in a photo posted Saturday to Hadid's Instagram Story. The model, meanwhile, wore a video game-inspired blue bodysuit and "One Direction" alum Malik channeled the world of "Harry Potter."

Kim Kardashian West, fresh off celebrating her 40th birthday, kept the festivities going and did not disappoint with her timely costume as Carole Baskin. The reality star donned a long blond wig, complete with a flower crown and recruited her four children to be her tigers as her friend Jonathan Cheban dressed up as Joe Exotic.

Kardashian West's youngest sister Kylie Jenner did not come to play this year either. The Kylie Cosmetics founder transformed into a red Power Ranger this Halloween. She wasn't alone though – Jenner had backup as her friends all dressed up as the remaining blue, yellow and pink rangers.

Neil Patrick Harris and his family, ever the Halloween costume champions, went with "Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory" for this year's family theme. Husband David Burtka played the title character with Harris as Arthur Slugworth and 10-year-old twins Gideon and Harper as Charlie Bucket and Veruca Salt, respectively.

In a September interview with USA TODAY, Harris hinted that they had something "sweet" in the works.

Gabrielle Union and Dwyane Wade had another "sweet" take on Halloween. The celeb couple, along with their almost-2-year-old daughter, Kaavia, dressed up as s'mores ingredients: Union as a Hershey's bar, Wade as a graham cracker and their little one as a marshmallow. "S'mores to go!!" Union captioned an Instagram photo of the trio in costume.

The Weeknd channeled Eddie Murphy in prosthetics and a tweed jacket to go as Sherman Klump, aka "The Nutty Professor."

Chrissy Teigen showed off a "Black Swan" costume and had the dance moves to back it up.

Tan France of "Queer Eye" claimed his homemade Moira Rose costume was shoddy, but it has to be the greatest "Schitt's Creek" costume we've ever seen.

"Not going out for Halloween, but doesn’t mean I can’t throw a costume together (terribly)," France captioned a post. I know I’ve completely bastardized it. It’s the best I could do with what I had around the house. Yes, I had a blonde wig!!"

Rapper Saweetie channeled Destiny's Child — yes, all three of them. The "My Type" artist wore three different but matching pink outfits, dressing up as Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams from their 2002 music video "Bootylicious." Saweetie even performed a snippet of the song, playing all three parts herself.

Ciara came through drippin' as rapper Cardi B on her Grammy-winning "Invasion of Privacy" album cover. And Ciara's 6-year-old son Future joined in on the fun, too. He dressed up as Cardi's husband, Migos rapper Offset.

Cardi approved. The rapper wrote on Instagram, in part: "I'm gagging! I love it! I'm so hype!"

But Ciara wasn't done, yet. The artist went on to dress up as the other half of the iconic "WAP" duo, Megan Thee Stallion, wearing a pink outfit resembling the one off Megan's "Girls in the Hood" album.

Next, the "Goodies" singer brought her husband Russell Wilson into the game. The couple didn't stray too far from last year's theme of dressing up as legendary artists. This Halloween they were Janet Jackson and Busta Rhymes from the "What's It Gonna Be" music video.

Lil Nas X also channeled a rapper: Nicki Minaj. The "Old Town Road" rapper donned a pink giraffe jumpsuit, prosthetic and a pink and blonde wig to bring "NAS MARAJ" to life.

New mom Katherine Schwarzenegger partnered with her dog Mav to honor essential workers by dressing up as a hospital worker and firefighter respectively.

"Mav and I are channeling major heroes this Halloween," Schwarzenegger captioned a photo of her and her dog on Instagram. "Thank you to all of our essential workers for all that you do always, and especially this year!"

Lupita Nyong'o is anything but "Clueless," but she nailed her Dionne Davenport look down.

Rebel Wilson came through this Halloween with a timely costume: "RONA (Warrior Princess)." The actress shared a short video to Instagram of her battling the disease writing "destroying 'rona wherever I go." We can only hope she's successful in her endeavors.

Vanessa Hudgens got an early start this year, kicking off October wearing a black latex jumpsuit to dress up as Catwoman. She even put bat wings on her dog and captioned her Instagram post: "Who needs a Batman when u can have a Batdog." Hudgens kept the Halloween spirit going as she dressed up again last week in an outfit "inspired by Cabaret." Her latest costume is... we're not sure, but it's still cute.

Mindy Kaling was inspired by her own show "Never Have I Ever" this Halloween and dressed up as the series' main character, teenager Devi Vishwakumar.

Some celebrities like Halsey fully committed to their costume and opted for a full-on transformation. The "Manic" artist painted her entire body blue and made her face up to resemble Tim Burton's "Corpse Bride."
