When it comes to mom shaming, Kim Kardashian knows it better than most.
On Monday, Kardsashian shared a photo of herself, two-year-old son Saint and nine-month-old Chicago on a walk. The photo quickly attracted the attention of mom shamers, who targeted what they thought was Saint’s pacifier.
“The AMA [American Medical Association] strongly recommend to have them off of a binkie and bottle by 12 months. They said for dental, medical and basic growth and development, it is best to remove these things from them by 12 months. My doctor gave me a pamphlet. It said that a child should start to drink out of a cup by 12 months,” read one comment.
“Children shouldn’t be using a pacifier past age one, it’s recommended that they don’t use one even after six months… it ruins the development and shaping of their teeth. Just like a bottle,” says another.
The 37-year-old celebrity was quick to shut down — and correct — haters.
“Missing my babies!!!!! P.S. mom shammers it’s not a pacifier, he’s eating candy! [sic],” read the caption.
Some of the reality star’s followers defended her, saying that regardless of what it is, the mom-of-three should be allowed to make her own decisions.
“Don’t worry about the mom shamers out there. They’re just tired people with hurt souls who have nothing better to do! Keep being you and the best mom you can be,” said one follower.
“Even if it was a pacifier people need to mind their business. They are your kids, you can do what you want with them — pacifier or candy! I’m sure you’re a great mom and just because they have a pacifier or candy doesn’t make you a bad mom,” added another.
Unfortunately for Kardashian this isn’t the first time she’s been shamed. Just last month she was attacked on social media for sharing a video of her five-year-old daughter North wearing one of the latest releases from Kardashian’s makeup line.
“Relax mom shamers it’s coming off in a few mins. I needed a bribe to get out of the door… you feel me?!?!?!” she wrote in response to the social media trolls.
Earlier this week, she was also accused of Photoshopping a picture of Chicago.
While the celebrity likely isn’t out of the woods when it comes to online criticism at least she knows her followers have her back.
