Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann Slash Price of Atlanta Mansion by Another $1 Million Amid Messy Divorce
The 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' alum and her retired NFL pro husband first listed the property in October for $6 million, but have failed to find a buyer
Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann have significantly reduced the asking price of their Atlanta home for the second time after it has failed to sell since October.
The Real Housewives of Atlanta alum and her retired NFL player husband first listed the property in October for $6 million. According to Zillow, they reduced it to $5.5 million in mid-December, and have now given the price an even bigger chop. On Thursday, records show they lowered it to $4.5 million, 75 percent of what they originally wanted three months ago.
The impressive stone mansion is currently listed by Jenny Doyle of Atlanta Fine Homes Sotheby's International Realty. It sits on 1.78 acres in the town of Milton, Georgia, about 40 minutes north of Atlanta. It features seven bedrooms and 11 bathrooms situated in 15,694 sq. ft. of living space.
There's also a six-car garage; billiard and arcade rooms; a gym with a private massage room; a 500-bottle, climate-controlled walk-in wine cellar; a heated pool and a home theater.
Zolciak and Biermann purchased the home in 2012, a year after they got married. They lived there with their children: Kroy "KJ" Jagger Jr., 12, Kash, 11, and twins Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, 9. Kim also has two older daughters from a previous relationship, Brielle, 26, and Ariana, 21, whom Kroy legally adopted.
The pair filed to legally dissolve their 12-year union in May of 2023, then decided not to split in July in an attempt to reconcile. Biermann later filed for divorce from Zolciak in August.
The house became a flashpoint toward the end of their marriage.
In February 2023, a notice shared by Fulton County stated that the home was in foreclosure after the ex-couple defaulted on a $1.56 million loan they took out in October 2012 and that Truist Bank would be putting the property up for public auction.
A source told PEOPLE at the time that Zolciak was "telling everyone this is a misunderstanding and is being sorted out." Although the issue was later resolved, an insider shared with PEOPLE that financial woes had played an issue in their relationship.
Biermann also went to court for the sole ability to sell their family home without Zolciak's sign-off in August. Court documents obtained by PEOPLE stated that the sale could help erase "significant debt" for the couple.
In October, a source confirmed to PEOPLE that the pair are "still under the same roof."
The Bravo star, who left the RHOA in 2012, previously denied reports that the property was in foreclosure during a separate incident in November 2022.
In a video posted on her Instagram Story and captured by @BravoHousewives, she said, "Ok you guys, my house has not sold for $257,000," she started in the clip, panning around the interior of her home. "If you guys think I would let my home that we've put millions and millions of dollars into go for $257,000, you're an idiot, okay? For real."
Shortly after the couple bought the home in 2012, Zolciak gave fans a tour of the property on her show Don't Be Tardy. "I absolutely love our new home," she raved before showing off their lavish dining room and adding: "Kroy and I are the king and queen of this f—ing house, so this is perfect for us."
