Kincardine Bulldogs take big bite out of Walkerton Hawks

KINCARDINE – Hawks fans had to forego the local Santa Claus parade to watch their team play in Kincardine on Saturday, Nov. 27. It wasn’t a pretty game as far as Walkerton was concerned, ending in a 9-1 loss.

Kincardine took a commanding five-goal lead in the first period – Jordan Moulton, Jeffery Frizley, Carter Servais, Bryce McFadden and Joseph Pringle all scored. Servais also got an assist, while Jerrid Fossold got two assists.

In the second period, Connor Borth scored for Walkerton on assists from Kyle Durrer and Jordan Borth. However, Kincardine got three more – Frizley (his second of the night), Steven Grant and Ben Nauta.

Seconds into the third period, Fossold made it 9-1 for Kincardine.

The Hawks return to home ice this Friday, Dec. 3, 8:20 p.m. Their opponent will once again be Kincardine.

In the North Pollock Division, the Mitchell Hawks lead with 28 points, tied with the Hanover Barons. The Wingham Ironmen hold third place with 22, closely followed by the Mount Forest Patriots with 21. The Kincardine Bulldogs have 17 points in fifth place. The Walkerton Hawks have eight, while the Goderich Flyers have yet to win a game.

As of press time, COVID-19 measures continued to be in effect. Fans must show proof of vaccination with a piece of photo identification to enter the arena, and list name and phone number for contact tracing purposes.
