“We received tremendous support from the wonderful team at the Carrying place, Mayor Pellegrini and other government officials, volunteers and community partners, who helped promote our event, resulting in us over-collecting,” said Malvika Arun, Territory Manager.

She added they were recently notified that the Trisan Centre in Schomberg will be opening their doors and welcoming them back for the upcoming donation event on June 30. This clinic will run 3:30 to 7:30 p.m., Their target is to collect 58 units of blood once again.

“In keeping with current physical distancing measures at our donation events, we have limited the number of people permitted inside the donor centres. Appointments must be booked in advance as we are unable to welcome walk-in donors during the pandemic.

“All blood types are needed. If you are in general good health, we need you to book and honour your appointment to help patients this month and throughout the year. Download the GiveBlood app, call 1 888 2 DONATE (1-888-236-6283) or book now at blood.ca.”
