"Kissing Booth" Deleted Scene Features Jacob Elordi and Joey King Being Very Awkward

The Kissing Booth 2 is set to hit Netflix on July 24, and to stoke the fire of anticipation for the sequel to the massively popular love story, Netflix is releasing some deleted scenes from the original film. If you're looking for some adorable moments between Joey King's lead character Elle and her crush, Jacob Elordi's Noah, you may have to wait a little longer, because these deleted scenes are extremely cringeworthy.

In the first — and arguably most awkward — deleted scene, Elle works up the courage to ask Noah to participate in the kissing booth, beginning by complimenting his arms. "What do you want, Elle?" he asks. "Funny you should ask, because girls ... seem to think you are hot," she says. "That's because I am hot," he answers. Elle then asks if he'll participate in the booth, and he takes a moment before shrugging it off with a simple "Nah." Elle then gets angry with him for his refusal, blaming him for the fact that he's been telling guys not to date her. "Look, bub," she says. "You are going to do this kissing booth, and you're going to stop messing with my personal life!" Yikes.

While the scene makes sense within the storyline of the movie, it is beyond cringey, and we're glad it was cut for something a bit less awkward. Other new deleted scenes include one of Elle crying at the prom during a conversation with Rachel, Lee's girlfriend, and another of her having a heart-to-heart with her dad after the dance. The rest of the deleted scenes aren't nearly as silly as the first one but apparently didn't add anything essential to the film, so on the cutting room floor they went — until now.

The Kissing Booth 2 picks up where the original movie left off, after Elle said goodbye to Noah as he headed to college. While they're apart, Elle and Noah's relationship is tested by classmates, and it remains to be seen if the couple's love can survive the distance. We don't know what's in store for Elle, Noah, Lee, and the rest of the gang, so we'll have to wait to find out on July 24!
