The Knix Sports Bra With a 5K Person Waitlist Is Back in Stock (With Some Major Upgrades)

No two sports bras are alike, and no two women are guaranteed to like the same sports bra. But sometimes, lightning strikes and a star is born that has the power to please everyone. That star, in this case, is Knix’s Catalyst sports bra.

Originally launched back in 2018, the Catalyst sports bra racked up a 5,000-person waitlist after “outperforming over 800 bras it was tested against, including Lululemon, Nike and Under Armour.” Our very own fashion director, Dena Silver, was one of the lucky ones to give it a try, and she was brutally honest about her experience with the bra: “I love how this bra gives me the opportunity to perfectly pick the length of the straps and while reviewers noted that the hooks slid out during workouts, that was never the case for me. However, I do have to re-hook the straps after every time I wash it. Further, I felt like I was between sizes and found that the cups gapped at the sides, which then annoyingly rubbed against my arms.” Even so, the Catalyst has become a go-to in her closet. “This has become a trusted bra to wear under a T-shirt for low-impact workouts, since it's snug and supportive.”

Now, two years later, Knix is back with a Catalyst update that’s sure to have a similar fanbase (and a fix for some of Silver’s issues): the Catalyst Front Zip sports bra. Designed to be even more supportive than it’s predecessor, the new staple comes with a racer-back design as well as a new “smooth and seamless center-front zipper, ensuring you can easily zip in and out” with each wear. Gone are the days of awkwardly contorting your body just to squeeze yourself out of a sweat-soaked sports bra. If you’re a fan of the original Catalyst, you’ll also appreciate the return of the adjustable back hooks as well as the molded cups that separate and lift to help reduce unwanted bounce while running or jumping rope. Available in sizes 32A to 42G, it’s also extremely inclusive, meaning there’s something for everyone.

If history’s taught us anything, it’s to not sleep on this sports bra because it can (and probably will) sell out again. See you on the waitlist track!
