Kootenay Lake boating accident kills 30-year-old man from Fruitvale, B.C.
A 30-year-old man from Fruitvale, B.C. has died after a boating incident last night on Kootenay Lake, said RCMP.
Police from Kaslo and Creston — on either end of Kootenay Lake — were called out at about 9 p.m. PT last night for a report that a boat had hit a rock near Riondel.
There were four people on board at the time, according to a release from Creston RCMP. The Fruitvale man died on the scene from his injuries, and the other boaters were transported to hospital.
Police are still trying to determine the cause of the collision, and ask anyone with information to call Creston RCMP at 250-428-9313 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
