Kris Jenner Used to Break into Daughter Kourtney's House When She Was Away: Here's Why (Exclusive)
The co-founder of Safely cleaning products says she used to bust into her oldest daughter's home with some heavy-duty cleaners and paper towels in hand
Moms will be moms, even if they're a celebrity.
In a new interview with PEOPLE, Kris Jenner, 69, admits that she used to sneak into her daughter Kourtney's home while she was away because she didn't think it smelled "clean enough."
"Kourtney started using plant-based products years ago, things that were all natural and organic," Jenner explains, adding that she grew up in a generation where if it was clean, it smelled like chemicals.
"I grew up believing the stronger it smelled, the cleaner it was, so I'd go over to her house, and it didn't smell the way my house smelled," she says, noting, "I'm kind of a clean freak."

Jenner says she'd head over to her oldest child's home armed with her paper towels and a bottle of all-purpose cleaner to take care of business.
"Kourtney would go on vacation and I would sneak over to her house and take all my strong products and clean her house, thinking she would never find out," she says.
Of course, Kourtney, 45, did find out — and Jenner says now she knows better.
The mom of six is the co-founder of Safely home products, which are plant-based cleaners, laundry detergents, and soaps that are free of harsh chemicals, and she says she realizes your home doesn't have to smell like bleach or ammonia to be dirt and germ-free.
"When I started using them, that's a whole different thing because I had assumed things that were natural or better for you wouldn't clean as well. But they do." She doesn't even miss the chemical smell.
"We just launched holiday scents, and I'm such a holiday girl, so I've been excited by these," she says of the limited edition release. (Safely products are currently available in Gingerbread Chai, Forest Pine, and Cranberry Jubilee.)
Jenner notes that she listens to Kourtney now when it comes to other things as well.
"Kourtney even made me throw away my plastic products and cooking pans that were [covered in chemicals]. So we've been through this journey together. She really taught me a lot about protecting your family when it comes to household products, and I finally paid attention."

As for her obsession with cleanliness? She's been that way for as long as she can remember.
"My whole life," she confirms. "From the time I was very young, it was very important to me to have things in order. I had six kids when I was really young, so I always wanted things neat. I'm a perfectionist and a control freak. I just wanted everything to be the way I wanted it."
She jokes that on Saturdays, people will call her and be like, "Are you cleaning your doors? Are you organizing your closet?"
As for the mess that she expects to be created by her 13 grandchildren on Christmas morning, she says she'll take a deep breath and go with the flow. "You can't control all of that chaos!"
