Kurt Busch is starting first at Texas again.

Busch won the pole for the November race at the 1.5-mile track and, thanks to some help from lightning, got the pole for Sunday’s race during Friday’s shortened qualifying session. Busch posted the fastest speed in the first round of qualifying and that ended up being the only round contested thanks to storms in the vicinity.

NASCAR canceled the rest of qualifying at approximately 5:45 p.m. local time, about an hour after the session began.

Busch leads a brigade of Fords up front. His Stewart-Haas teammates Kevin Harvick and Clint Bowyer will start second and third while Team Penske’s Ryan Blaney will start fourth. Denny Hamlin is the first Toyota driver in fifth and Jimmie Johnson is the first Chevrolet driver in ninth.
