Kyle Richards Says It Will 'Take a Minute' for Her to Forgive Dorit Kemsley After She Shared Private Text
In this week's 'RHOBH' reunion episode, Kemsley accused Richards of being "manipulative" and "calculated" before revealing the details of her text message
Kyle Richards and Dorit Kemlsey are on the outs — and it may be a while before the longtime friends can hash out their differences.
Kemsley, 47, revealed during Wednesday's Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 reunion that Richards, 55, had sent her a text message the length of a "novel," requesting they keep their differences to themselves.
The mother of two claimed it was sent in an attempt to "silence" her before filming began. Now, in light of that revelation, Richards admitted during an Amazon Live on Thursday that it would take time for her to fully forgive Kemsley.
"I did not know at that time that she read my text message, and that was private, and I was really shocked by that," Richards explained during the live stream. "She's someone who I care about and her family. It’s going to take me a minute."
Noting how she felt "really shocked," the Halloween actress confessed she was surprised to discover Kemsley had revealed the details of their conversation.
"Because in all the years of doing this show — fourteen years there now — I’ve never, ever shared anything that’s been said to me off camera or a text that’s off camera, private,” she continued. "I'm not someone who likes to hold onto any anger or negativity but I do need a minute."
Richards added, "She is my friend, and I care about her and her family a lot, but you don’t do that to your close friend. You just don't."
Before the cast even hit the reunion stage during Wednesday's episode, Kemsley shared the details of her extensive text message with Erika Jayne as they got ready in a dressing room.
"It was so manipulative, it was so calculated," Kemsley said before handing her cell phone to Jayne, who read the message aloud.
"Some interview comments hurt my feelings and created more issues for me," an excerpt from the text message flashed on-screen. "I don't want to lose someone else in my life over a TV show. They don't even know we are going through a hard time so I don't see the need to bring it up here."
Jayne, 52, agreed that the message felt manipulative and Kemsley declared that "fair is fair" when it comes to bringing up hard conversations at reunions, despite Richards' wishes to keep their drama under wraps.
The duo have experienced their fair share of difficulties on season 13 of the Bravo show.
On the reunion stage, Richards confronted Kemsley for bringing up her marital problems with Mauricio Umansky on camera "when we are good friends." She also accused the designer of making comments about her relationships — including her friendship with Morgan Wade — at her "expense."
"You knew that by saying something like that, it was going to create a bigger problem for me in the media with the whole Morgan situation," Richards added, referencing ongoing rumors about a romance with the country singer.
