Paris Saint-Germain forward and Real Madrid transfer target Kylian Mbappe has named two legends from the Spanish side as his biggest role models in football.

Mbappe is top of Madrid's list of objectives, but the coronavirus has hit their plans to sign the World Cup winner this summer and they will now be expected to wait until next year at least for the 21-year-old.

Asked in a Q&A with Mirror Sport to reveal his biggest role models, Mbappe said: "First was [Zinedine] Zidane for everything he achieved with the national team.

"And then it was [Cristiano] Ronaldo. He has won so much and still continues to be a winner even after so much success.

"They have both left their mark in the history of the game – and I want to leave my own chapter in the history books."

For now, however, the French forward looks set to stay at the Parc des Princes.

"It is a big ambition of mine to win the European Cup and to be a part of PSG winning their first European Cup would be very special," he said.

Mbappe has also talked up Liverpool - another club he has been linked with - of late, praising Jurgen Klopp for building a winning "machine".

"They have made winning look easy but the truth is that it is never easy. Performances like they have been having don’t just happen.

“To be as ruthless as they have been would come from lots of hard work in training and from having a very good manager.”
