Kylie Jenner Appears Makeup-Free on the Cover of Vogue Australia

Kylie Jenner has made a name for herself in the makeup business with her nearly billion-dollar brand, Kylie Cosmetics, due in large part to rarely being seen on social media without wearing her own products. In fact, in the September issue of Vogue Australia, she tells her interviewer and older sister, Kendall Jenner, that "can’t leave the house without lipstick." But she must have removed it when she arrived for her shoot, because the newly revealed cover shows her seemingly makeup-free.

Kylie's makeup artist, Ariel Tejada, posted the cover to Instagram with the caption, "This is So Major!! @vogueaustralia I would love to Say Makeup by me! but its Really Moisturizer by Ariel😂❤️ i feel beyond blessed to be apart of this moment with you @kyliejenner," implying that she's not wearing any makeup — only some unnamed skin care. Could she conceivably be wearing some blush? Maybe lash extensions? Sure — but it's definitely one of the least made-up moments in the young makeup mogul's highly photographed young adulthood.

The rest of the photos accompanying the interview inside the issue show Jenner equally fresh-faced, modeling a series of oversized coats. The shoot that appears to have taken place before her recent switch to blonde hair but after she "got rid of" her lip filler, a move that, when paired with the barefaced vibe of the shoot, seems to reaffirm what she tells her interviewer and older sister, Kendall Jenner. “I feel like having a daughter, and thinking about beauty in the future, has definitely changed me, and I feel like it has made me love myself more and accept everything about me," she says. "It’s just having a different outlook on life so I can pass that on to her. I want to be an example for her. What kind of example would I be if she said she didn’t like her ears, and then I didn’t like them either? I just want to teach her that. I’m trying to love myself more.”

Kylie also reiterated what she has said before about her lip insecurities and how they led not only to getting lip injections, but launching a brand with lipstick as the cornerstone. "My Lip Kits started with, number one, my obsession with makeup and lips specifically and just how I took my insecurity with my lips and turned it into my business model," she tells Kendall. "I just loved bigger lips, and I just got obsessed."

So does this new attitude of self-acceptance and reflection on her appearance-related insecurities mean she's turning away from makeup? Absolutely not. In addition to assuring Kendall that she's still obsessed with doing her own makeup and watching tutorials, Kylie tells her, "My goal with Kylie Cosmetics is to eventually be worldwide and have stores."
