Labor Day shooting victim rushed to Columbus hospital, where he later dies, police say
A Labor Day shooting on Trestlewood Drive in Columbus has left one man dead, according to the Columbus Police Department.
Police said officers were dispatched around 6:24 p.m. Monday to a shooting in the 6200 block of Trestlewood Drive. When police showed up, they found the victim lying on the floor suffering from a gunshot wound. Emergency medical services took the man to Piedmont Columbus Regional, where he later died.
The victim has been identified as Marcus McLeod, 25, according to Muscogee County Coroner Buddy Bryan.
Bryan said McLeod was pronounced dead at 7:17 p.m.
