Labour ministry investigating death on Norfolk County farm

The Ministry of Labour is investigating after a Norfolk County resident was found in medical distress on an area farm Thursday morning and was later pronounced dead at a local hospital.

According to Norfolk County OPP, first responders raced to the farm on Concession 12 Townsend just before 8:30 a.m. after getting a call that a 42-year-old was found unresponsive in a vehicle on the property.

Shortly thereafter, a witness told The Spectator they saw three ambulances and a police car turn off Concession 12 west of Bloomsburg and speed south toward Simcoe with lights flashing and sirens blaring.

The connection between the deceased and the farm where they were found was not disclosed, though the OPP noted that the Ministry of Labour has taken charge of the death investigation.

The identity of the deceased has not been released.
