Lady Gaga Will Sing the National Anthem at Biden-Harris Inauguration

Lady Gaga will sing the National Anthem at the inauguration of Joe Biden and Kamala Harris next Wednesday (January 20), Variety reports. Her performance of “The Star-Spangled Banner” at the swearing-in ceremony is billed alongside live music from Jennifer Lopez and other artists who will be announced in the coming days. A virtual parade and other live-streamed events are also planned.

Yesterday, Justin Timberlake revealed that he and Ant Clemons will perform their new song “Better Days” at an inauguration event.

The show is set to take place on the West front of the Capitol. How last week’s riots and the National Guard presence will affect proceedings remains to be seen.

On the campaign trail last November, Gaga stumped for Biden at a drive-in campaign event in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where she gave a speech and performed “Shallow” and “Yoü and I.” Back in 2016, she sang the National Anthem at the Super Bowl. Gaga released Chromatica in May last year; read “5 Takeaways From Chromatica” on the Pitch.
