From singing to acting, Lainey Wilson has been one busy gal as she paves her way into the country music scene. Right now, she's making her way across the U.S. as she hits the stage for her sold out Country With a Flare tour, but she made a special pit stop to visit America's original idol, Kelly Clarkson.

The 30-year-old singer returned to The Kelly Clarkson Show after her debut appearance in 2021, followed by a duet with Cole Swindell in 2022. This time around, not only did she bring the house down with her performance, but she was able to sit down with Kelly and Shazam star Zachary Levi to talk about stepping out of her comfort zone while pursuing her role on Yellowstone.

When Kelly asked if she always wanted to act, Lainey admitted, "Songwriting has always been my number one no matter what. I mean, I wrote my first song at 9-years-old.[Yellowstone] is going to be a way to share my music with the world. You're dang right I'm going to take it. Let's do it!" she continued.

The two ladies later bonded over their songwriting as they chatted about the first songs they had ever written. Kelly's was called "Baby Blue Eyes" while Lainey's was titled "Lucky Me" — both about boys that had caught their eye.

To everyone's surprise, Lainey still remembered the lyrics to her first song and when she performed a snippet of it for the audience, it was easy for everyone to see why the "Things a Man Oughta Know" singer is the star that she is today.

Luckily for us, that wasn't the only performance of the episode. Lainey went on to perform her hit single "Heart Like a Truck" dressed in a fringe vest, wide-brim hat, and her signature bell bottom pants that made her go viral.

Her stellar performance earned her nothing but praise from fans who commented, "I hope she takes all the awards home that her Truck can hold ❤️" and "✨Lainey is gonna take home all of the awards this year 🏆✨."
