Langenburg Council Discuss Employee Relations

·2 min read

While unable to attend the Langenburg Council meeting it is great to have a wonderful CAO like Glenda Lemke, who is a wealth of knowledge and willing to help where she can. CAO Lemke was able to give this reporter a briefing on the council meeting as follows:

Mayor Stasiuk called the meeting to order at 7:40 P.M. on Tuesday, March 2, 2021.

Next, the Minutes were reviewed for approval followed by the Financials, including for December and January, before they were approved.

Next on the agenda was the Town Foreman's report with Dave Tucker before the Council discussed briefly the swimming pool progress.

Committee Reports

Recreation committee – Discussed the Rest Stop Project and Rebranding. It was decided to order some water bottles with the new town logo to be used for gifts when needed. Council decided to purchase a few extra and offer them for sale at the office. A grant was received for town flags so once the last few details are sorted out the flags will be ordered and put up this spring.

The rink is closed down for the season and it looks like the town will be on or just under budget.

Employee Relations – the COVID policy was reviewed with one minor update.

Finance – The budget process is in full swing.

Postcard Portable sign – Council will allow the Access Communication sign to go in the rest stop for 3 months for a small fee.

The council reviewed and noted the RM appointment as well.

Langenburg housing authority Financials were reviewed and discussed by the council.

Finally, an RCMP update was reviewed by the council.

An in-camera session was held to discuss personnel and evaluations.

Thank you again to CAO Lemke for the assistance.
