Largest earthquake in US since 1965 rattles Alaska

The largest earthquake in the U.S. in the last half century spared Alaska any major damage in a sparsely populated region, officials said. The magnitude 8.2 quake was reported Wednesday night, and located just south of the Alaska Peninsula. (July 29)
